Herr Floh cooks for the regional forces

Culinary Deployment


Josef Floh has proved beyond any doubt that his region is important to him. The behatted landlord of the award-winning Floh Inn in Langenlebarn (Niederösterreich) remains faithful to a governing principle that he calls »Radius 66«. All ingredients for his kitchen, as well as the furniture in the dining room are sourced from within a radius of 66 kilometres.

Now Josef Floh is also helping out in the region: caring for the Red Cross in Tulln, the police and the crisis team.


‘We want to thank you for your commitment’. Over the next two weeks, Josef Floh will cook for workers in the home nursing and emergency services departments of the Tulln district office, as well as the three branch offices in Sankt Andrä-Wördern, Sieghartskirchen & Kirchberg/Wagram.

The restaurant and the culinary Floh-Markt (a clever play on words meaning ‘flea market’) remain closed for the time being, but the cooking continues. Every day, a warm meal is prepared in the Floh Inn by helping hands, meals that are delivered by the Red Cross in Tulln.

His most important suppliers, especially Höllerschmid’s butcher shop, are supporting the initiative by donating ingredients, so that together they can take care of the emergency services.
