Bread is enjoying a greater revival these days than any other comestible. While folks everywhere bemoan the dying-out of the baker’s art, still more people are developing a yen for artisanal bread. This trend is confirmed by the huge success of the bread festival Krust&Krume (Crust&Crumbs). With this event, founder Barbara van Melle has put bakers on the big stage for the first time in Austria. And to also give amateur bread-aficionados the chance to acquire familiarity with sourdough, van Melle and master baker Simon Wöckl opened Vienna’s first baking atelier in February 2018. Wine&Partners has supported Krust&Krume from the very beginning with their press campaigns in Austria – because we also love the aroma of fresh bread!
