Weinbau Markus Lager in Göttlesbrunn cultivates 8.5 hectares, roughly 60% dedicated to white wine and 40% to red. The highly balanced, flora-friendly approach in the vineyards led the estate to switch over to organic cultivation in 2019. Which in turn is reflected in the wines as well. The white wines are traditionally vinified to retain the fresh, fruit character, as well as in barrel to emphasize their depth and elegance. The red wines are granted the time they need to develop, and mature in large wooden barrels as well as barrique casks for up to 14 months. This approach seeks to retain the character of the wine, without allowing the wood to dominate.
